How do I purchase and download a scene?
Choose a scene or scene(s) that you wish to purchase from the 'Buy A Scene' menu.
Complete the check out process.
Return to store.falconstudios.com/index.cfm and click on the 'My Account' link at the top of the page.
If you are a returning customer, login using you existing account. If you are new, fill in the information on the right of the page. Note for FalconStudios website members: Use the same email address that you used for your FalconStudios website account to receive your membership discount.
From the My Account page, click on Order History.
Click on either the Order Number or the View button for latest order (this should be at the top of the list).
Scroll down to the details of your order and find a link named 'Generate Download URL'.
Once you click this link, the page will refresh and the 'Generate Download Link' will be replaced with an actual Download Link. This link will be valid for only 24 hours.
On Windows, right click this link and select 'Save as...',
On Macs, press option and click the link.
What is the difference in the formats that you offer?
WMV is a Windows Media Format. It is playable in Windows Media Player, or a Windows Media device, like the Microsoft Zune.
iPod format is a standard MPEG4 file. It can be easily added to your iTunes library or played directly using an MPEG4 player like VLC. VLC is a free media player that is available on almost all known platforms and can be downloaded from http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
Unless you are a Microsoft junkie, we highly recommend the iPod (MPEG4 version) for its flexibility.
Does the content contain DRM?
The scenes available for purchase in our Store are not DRM’d. You are free to copy the scenes to any device you own. We, of course, ask that you do not make our content available to anyone else by uploading it to any sharing service or making it available through any P2P service. We believe DRM places unfair restrictions on the consumer and ask in return that our customers treat our content with respect.
What resolution is the content?
The majority of content is encoded at 1000 kb/s and at 640 x 480 resolution. This gives the scenes an excellent quality image, comparable to DVD .
How long will it take to download a scene once I buy it?
This greatly depends on your bandwidth. Here are some numbers to give you an idea:
For a scene that is 200,000 KB in size it would take
56KB Modem – approximately 4 to 8 hours
ADSL – approximately 30 minutes
3 Mbps Cable – approximately 15 to 30 Minutes
How long do I have to be able to download the scene?
Once you generate the download link, you have 24 hours to download your scene before the link becomes invalid.
What is the Minimum machine requirements to play High Definition video?
High Definition video demands a fast computer. The following is the minimal machine configuration in order to play High Definition video. If your machine does not come up to specification, we recommend downloading the Standard Definition video.
